Abstract

Calcium silicate-based bioceramic materials have become increasingly important in contemporary endodontics because of their biocompatibility, bioactivity, sealing ability and capacity to interact with mineralized tissues. Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) established the foundation for their clinical use, while newer materials such as Biodentine, BioAggregate, EndoSequence Root Repair Material (ERRM) and iRoot BP Plus have been developed to improve handling, setting characteristics and clinical versatility.
